Lincoln, Montana offers a wealth of recreational activities. Along with camping, fishing, and hunting, there are rodeos, snowmobiling, and sightseeing. And there's so much more! Lincoln is home to the official restart/finish line for Montana's Race to the Sky, sled dog race each February. The 350 mile race covers some of the most grueling, challenging terrain offering the most mountainous trail in the lower forty-eight. You will find spectacular fishing in alpine lakes, the Blackfoot River, and the many mountain drainages surrounding Lincoln. Or maybe you'd prefer to spend your summer days hiking, backpacking, or mountain biking. Once the snow flies, snowmobiling dominates the scene. With more than 250 miles of groomed trails and lots of play areas, Lincoln is a snowmobiler's dream come true. Along with miles of skiing in the backcountry, the Blackfoot Valley also provides crosscountry ski trails. Visit Hooper Park with 26 shaded campsites nestled in ponderosa pines with a covered pavillion -- some with electric and water. Amenities include firepits, picnic tables, horseshoe pits, and bathrooms. Rates are $10.00/$17.00 per night. For information contact Lincoln Park Board, PO Box 356, Lincoln, MT 59639.
